Unlike many COVID-19 vaccination clinics that popped up temporarily in sports arenas or grocery stores, the ���ϳԹ���’s Pitt CoVax Vaccination Center on Fifth Avenue, which opened in May 2021, is in place to serve Pitt affiliates and the general public.

In addition to , Pitt affiliates can also ask health care professionals personal questions. If you got your vaccination in Pennsylvania and can’t locate your vaccination card, the Pitt CoVax team can help you retrieve your information. Are you unsure about your health and whether you should be vaccinated? Stop in and have a private conversation with the team. Do you have a family member or friend who is hesitant about being vaccinated? Bring them to the center for a positive conversation about COVID-19 vaccinations.

“Individuals who are vaccinated are proving healthier and safer as the new COVID-19 delta variant is passed around the United States. You are protecting not only yourself, but those around you by being vaccinated,” said Melissa McGivney, co-director of the COVID-19 Medical Response Office, associate dean for community partnerships and professor of pharmacy and therapeutics in Pitt’s School of Pharmacy.

“If you’re not vaccinated yet or want to know how to talk with a friend or loved one about becoming vaccinated, please stop by the Pitt CoVax Vaccination Center and speak with our team about your concerns. We understand that some people are hesitant and we’re here to help with no judgment,” McGivney said.

The center is currently open Wednesdays from 1-4:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The center, located at 4140 Fifth Ave. at the base of Nordenberg Hall, will expand hours as the fall term begins.
